4 lb chuck roast
salt and pepper
1 pk. dry onion soup mix
1 c water
3 carrots, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 stalk celery, chopped

Directions:
Season roast with salt and pepper, Brown on all sides in a large skillet about 4 minutes on each side.
(You don't have to do this but it makes the flavor richer).
Place the roast in the slow cooker and add the soup mix, water, and vegetables. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.
